Place and Space Project

Angela Kreutz, a PhD student from the University of Queensland, has been visiting Cherbourg State School for the past two years.

She has been researching the experience of space and place amongst the children living here in Cherbourg. As part of this research she has been working with selected children from grades five to seven who are interested in participating in the project.

Within the research each child involved becomes part of the research team, recording and investigating the spaces and places that surround them in their everyday lives. The children record their environment through photography, videoing, drawings, mapping exercises, local walks, and a diary.
